TITLE: MOVIE DEBATE

“Movie Debate” aims to encourage students to raise a debate about a certain topic, i.e. the topic of the film that is related to a lecture. The debate also aims to encourage students to make a summary typically to explain the premise of the film before discussing its merits or demerits. In this case, students can compete with each other successfully, as long as the panel is given a good opportunity to fair assessment.

Upon completion of the competition, students will be able to:

  • raise their voice around a debate
  • become more capable critics of debates
  • understand that debates are more persuasive than classical speeches
  • be more convincing than the public would expect
  • become a major speaker who aims to create access for a wide audience
  • understand in more detail the topic they are debating about
