“Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears, even if the thread of their discourse is secret, their rules are absurd, their perspectives deceitful, and everything conceals something else.” – Excerpt from Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino
The goal of this workshop is to explore the relationship between imagination and spatial memory to create a space, environment, building, or setting. Students will be required to portray alternate worlds, by blending real and fictitious elements into a narrative.
These stories will draw from everyday experiences, and existing architectural and social structures, that will resonate with current events to develop an imaginative narration.
OUTCOME
At the end of the workshop, the students will portray their imaginative worlds through visuals by any media of their choice, that read together as an evocative narrative of an aspirational society.
TARGET GROUPS
Students of art, digital media, design (Bachelor & Master), etc.
