TITLE: Sustainable Development and Innovation in the Media Field

Time: 10 - 12 July 2025

The summer academy organized by the Faculty of Media and Communication comes in various forms to discover new ways of educating in media and communication planning and to elaborate a critical approach to media development today. Its purpose is to be a connecting point between two types of knowledge; media development knowledge (“continuum knowledge”), and “innovation knowledge,” based on the innovations that participants bring or have encountered. Based on them, the Academy works to define a common platform, where the media’s goals for the development of society can meet with sustainability that is in their interest and with innovative findings, illustrating different scenarios where the goals are to achieve their objectives.

This time, the Academy will try to bring out something new about strategies and sustainable development and innovations in the media.

Expected results:

At the end of the academy, participants will be able to:

  • Outcome 1. See the media as a process where the journalist is a facilitator of the proces
  • Outcome 2. Understand the role of the media, guiding the dialogue towards a goal and timeline
  • Outcome 3. To become part of society’s media education by helping to define intellectual and ethical criteria for the innovations we encounter.
  • Outcome 4. See themselves as equals in decision-making as ideas belong to the group and are openly debated among equals

  • Bachelor’s level students
