TITLE: INTERNET OF THINGS & 5G

The main topics that will be discussed during the Summer Academy will be IoT (Internet of Things) and 5G technology which are leading in terms of innovation and technology nowadays. With the development of technology there are more and more requests for new and existing systems to connect to the Internet and communicate with each other, thus exchanging important information. The exchange of information between equipment and systems enables the development of innovative technologies such as autonomous vehicles, industry 4.0, smart buildings, medical robots, etc. But so far one of the shortcomings of the IoT was the limitation of the existing technology and network which did not always give the desired results thus often causing delays in the implementation of the mentioned processes, where as a result the full potential of the IoT could not be achieved. It is with the development of 5G technology that the elimination of this problem has been achieved, enabling communication between devices and systems with almost no delays or losses and utilizing the full potential of IoT.

Upon completion participants will be able to:

  • demonstrate basic knowledge about IoT and 5G technologies
  • show familiarity with equipment that can be used to implement 5G technologies
  • discuss about the challenges and opportunities regarding IoT and 5G

Target groups:

Bachelor and Master students of engineering fields such as Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Energy Engineering, Science and Computer Engineering, other technical fields as well as individuals interested in industry.
