Time: 18 - 22 July
The 5-day workshop will focus on the history of Prishtina’s old town, especially the study of the two covered rivers, Prishtina and Vellusha. The aim is to follow the water line where the rivers originate, where they are covered and which parts they remain uncovered.
In Prishtina, the ‘the riverless city’ there are two underground rivers. For our generation, these two elements are imaginary or unknown. They belong to a collective memory, which is forgotten and not talked about.
Parts of the Prishtina and Vellusha riverbeds that passed through the urbanized part of Prishtina were covered around 1980s.
A focus point of study could be the point where the Vellusha and Prishtina rivers meet, which is the parking lot behind the Palace of Youth and Sports.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend daily lectures on urbanism, landscape design, studies on water systems and treatment of water elements in an urban context, based on examples from different cities and their relationship to water.
The presenters will be online, and their names will be confirmed during the workshop.
After the presentations, the students will continue the tasks of the workshop.
Divided into groups, students after the lectures will work on their assignments, which are: urban analysis, videos, collages (2d or 3d animations) and booklets (research).
RESULTS / UPON COMPLETION PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
TARGET GROUPS: Graduating students of Archicture and Design.
