TITLE: ECONOMY, FINANCE, BANKING AND INSURANCE

The Summer Academy for Economics, Finance, Banking, and Insurance will offer lectures of special interest as part of the ‘Global UBT Fest 2024’ Festival. Consequently, participants will have the opportunity to understand and analyze current economic developments, as well as predict future economic trends in Kosovo and Western Balkan countries. The majority of the lectures offered during this academy will focus on analyzing the primary determinants of the economy, economic growth, financial development, the challenges of sustainable financial development, and the investment environment with a focus on capital markets, digital banks, and cryptocurrencies. The challenges of developing the insurance sector, as well as financial reporting standards and tax policies, will also be covered.As part of this summer school, lectures will be offered in the form of Micro Business Game training. The Micro Business Game is a highly interactive module designed for all participants who wish to learn in a practical manner how to enhance the success and sustainability of start-ups and small businesses. The main objective of the Micro Business Game is to demonstrate effective management of a Micro Business through an experience-based approach. This Summer Academy will feature lecturers with exceptional experience in the field of economics and finance, who have proven their expertise both nationally and internationally. Special emphasis will be placed on the industry sector, with lectures and sections directly related to the labor market and industry being offered. The MBE faculty has made all preparations and the academy will be held from 08.07.2024 to 11.07.2024. 

 

After completion the seminars, participants will: 

  • To analyze economic policies and their impact on the general well-being of society; 
  •  To get advanced knowledge about financial markets and their operation; 
  •  To understand the concept of digital banks and new innovations in the banking industry; 
  •  Understand investment strategies, and evaluate them against the background of capital market theory; 
  • Understand basic accounting and controlling principles and apply simple financial tools. 
  •  To analyze the insurance market and its organization in developing countries; 
  •  To understand the function of digital currencies, and their role in the economy; 
  • Understand the interface between financial institutions and clients and realize implication.
